Florence & The Machine, Red Rocks Amp 07/24/12

By Chelsie Reynolds on April 23, 2013

What can be expected from a band like Florence and The Machine except pure awesomeness? Not to mention that I got to see them perform at Red Rocks in Colorado, where open skies and surrounding rock formations only enhance any performance.

What to really say except that it was awesome, awesome, awesome?? I may be a little biased, considering Florence is one of my all-time favorite singers, but there is a reason why. Despite being extremely sick less then a week before and almost canceling the show due to vocal node issues, she marched onto that stage and sang the bajeezus out of every song.

I don't quite remember how many encores she actually gave, maybe three, but it still left the thousands in the crowd wanting more.

I can say I truly felt blessed that night to be part of such an amazing moment in time.  All of her songs are such an integral part of who I am, as if she was writing them just for me, and I can tell you there is nothing like that experience of seeing her perform them live for an entire audience who feels the exact same way. It is quite powerful.
