The song has a very uplifting feeling. Good energy & a very positive/inspirational vibe going for it.

I love how you've blended the new age feel with classical basis... scrumptious!

Hey Freedom, we put this under Discover Tracks on the homepage! Thank you for sharing your creation :)

Hi Rob! Love your orchestra; you are quite creative. :) I feel time-warped. Thanks for the detailed explanation about how you created it. I envy people who can compose music :) Put it under Discover Tracks for the week!

Thanks, Ingrid. I'm glad you enjoyed it. Garritan make some great products for hobbiest composers like myself (and GPO has been used by pro's in video games). MuseScore is actually a free program that is very user friendly. It's great for composing, though its built-in sounds are pretty weak.

A very nice piece of work. It sounds like you actually do have an orchestra in the closet.

Thanks, Howell! Yes, the Garritan sounds are pretty impressive--especially compared to the virtual orchestra sounds that preceded them. If I could afford to have an orchestra on stand by, I would, but this is the next best thing.

Just listened to it again :) and shared on my personal Facebook. GOing to start calling you Rob Amadeus Darby now! Somebody asked me if I could compose a song; I think I could do lyrics, but am stumped by music composition. I'll have to check out MuseScore... hey, would you be willing to write a short review on that? Would be great to share on our bog!

Hi Ingrid. Thank you for the complement. You are way too kind! I'm just a half jazz-educated rock musician who has learned a bit about composition. If I could go back, I'd go for a degree in it, but I'm a happy hobbyist. I'd be glad to write a review on MuseScore. Just let me know how to submit it to you. If you'd like to learn some of the basics of composition, I'd recommend starting with voice-leading (counterpoint, to be exact). Here's a great book that's quite easy to read, in spite of the fact that the bulk of it was written 300 years ago in German: http://www.amazon.com/Study-Counterpoint-Johann-Joseph-Parnassum/dp/0393002772/ref=sr_1_1?s=books&ie=UTF8&qid=1412980009&sr=1-1&keywords=fux

Rob, thank you! I will check out that book - and thanks for the vocabulary too! I learned music at a young age in Dutch, and don't know the language - guess it's time to catch up. Thanks for the offer on the review; here are step by step instructions in this blog: http://www.melodyfusion.com/blogs/the-melody-fusion-blog/2014/9/3/september-2014-contest-post-the-best-review

Thanks for giving it a spin, Harvey. I'm glad you like it. I'll probably have some similar pieces to submit soon. I'll get on that review, Ingrid.

Thank you Kerri and Stevie. All of these comments have been very encouraging, and truly too kind. I appreciate it all!
As I'm new I was wondering if someone could answer a question for me please? When you 'Idolize' someone, I'm assuming you are doing so because you like their music? Or can you do so for another reason, as I notice some people haven't uploaded any music? Not quite sure how this works yet.

Kerri, when you "Idolize" anyone...you are simply gaining access to their activity and contact base. ...it's a little tough to like someone's music when they haven't put up any tunes...yet, you can still idolize them...thus opening the portal of communique with them and their base. The idea is to expand your opportunities to hear and be heard...receive constructive evaluations and do likewise....this is pure genius....it's already helped me a ton..!!

Also...there is no better tool for collaboration on material than Melody Fusion. I've got 1 effort in the works and another just beginning ...too much fun.. !!
Thanks Kerri...you've already made my day a couple times with your music....what a great community....yes??

Very nice! I recognize a Behringer V-Amp there. I just sold one of those in favor of a Zoom G1on.

I've had that V-Amp for 15 years..! I only use it for home recording and teaching...or practicing. It sounds great in the house but just doesn't cut it live. I still practice thru it every day.

I've used it for tons of recordings...it tracks awesome for some reason. In live context...I'm a diehard pedal guy. I've got dozens of em..!!

I love this instrumental, You are very accomplished on the guitar I must say! Excellent piece of music, Still getting used to how this site works but I think I've 'liked' it. Great stuff Stevie!
Many thanks Stevie for your very lovely comment on my music, it means a lot :)

Actually....you play very much like my wife Nancy....she would love this piece. She quit teaching a couple years ago to pursue her career in writing. Her first book has been published and was officially released just 2 days ago...and is showing lots of energy. So, except for playing in church, her piano playing has moved to the back burner.
Many thanks Aaron for your very lovely comment on my music, it means a lot :)
