Stevie - I really like your playing. We have had weeks of rain here in Colorado, your song made me think of sunny Spring days. Very nice work!

Rob I wanted to tell you how much I enjoy this song! It's great and it really reminds me of Bobby Caldwell. I love Bobby Caldwell. I played it for a friend and she really liked it too. Steve had a fun time working on it and I got to hear it a lot. Nice song. Oh, and I love the bass.

Thanks, Nancy. I must admit, I'm not familiar with Bobby Caldwell. Perhaps I should remedy that. Stevie did a great job (and that doesn't surprise me). Thanks for noticing the bass, too. I love playing bass.

Rob, you probably know the song..."What you won't do for love " that's Bobby Caldwell. Nancy is a fine bassist herself!

@Ingrid: Rob really is a superb writer, the lyrics of this piece are just great..!! It's an upbeat treatment of a universal and very real life dynamic. He was killin it when he tracked the instruments too....such a fun tune..!! An honor to be involved with him and this song...

Today Steve and I worked some on our soprano recorder/acoustic guitar piece for church tomorrow. We'll be playing What Wondrous Love is This. The recorder lends itself beautifully to these simple and haunting type melodies. Maybe we'll get it recorded and up here. Ok, time for Star Trek! Gotta go. We love the old Star Trek shows.

Nancy that is a great piece. Looked up a version and found this https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1g26dbNJYJI Look forward to hearing your cover!

I've heard Steve working on this from the bare bones acoustic version he has played for a while all the way to this. He put in quite a bit of time but enjoyed every minute. Awesome end result dear Steve.

A beautiful rendition Stevie! The emotion in your playing is truly a gift descendant from Jubal himself!

Yo James...thanks for checking out the cover! This one was a hoot to do !! I rarely know which direction these ideas and little projects will go.... ever so often they go south...he he... But this one seemed to gel. It never fails to amaze me what kind of unknown alchemy can occur in the process, between mics and pre amps and placement and panoramic choices! That's what makes this the coolest hobby...yes?😆💥🎶👍🎸
This is the second version of this song re-arrange by Steve Kuykendall.

Normand, as usual I love what you've written. Steve had a grand day playing with your song and adding his parts. You two are so fun.

Dreamy! Relaxing! Beautiful tones! I really like the slight vibrato on the "chording" guitar. And right about 3/4 through, there's a simply wonderful lead line. Good stuff!

Thank you SO much Rob! I really cherish your artistic feedback, as I hold your skills and creative heart in the highest regard !! I did this one just today..! The chords were played on my 60 th anniversary strat and the lead lines were played on my Zion custom...thru a Creme Brûlée pedal and stereo ping pong delay 🎸

Thanks Slava..! I wrote that reverb patch on my 30 year old Quadraverb ( still in perfect condition ) ... It makes me nervous when I know a fabulous producer like you might listen to my songs ...but I always feel encouraged when you have something good to say!!😎🎸

With all the comments here, you ought to do a follow-up to this one! Maybe an entire album's worth.

"fabulous producer" )))))))) Come on, Steve! BTW, ask Nancy to help with keyboard pads or arpeggio for the new ideas. Keep doing this way, bro ;-)

Her name is Merri... because she is very ebbulient and effervescent !!
Nancy Kuykendall

More on Merri. - We got her in the small town of Marion near here, on the anniversary of my mother's birthday and her name was Marian. Plus the tiny kitty had such a merry personality and brought such merriment into our home, we thought between the town name, my mother's name and her personality, Merri was a good name for her. She is sweet and funny.
Dear Nancy, I come to your picture here...and I am reminded how surreal my life seems at times, especially because you are in it...I could only be blessed enough to be with you in a dream..! You ARE my dream.... May I please NEVER wake up..!!

Loved Alvin Lee & you did a great job with this cover. Loved the sax. Very soulful.
Stevie Kuykendall

Howell, thanks for the kind words ! Alvin Lee was,in my opinion ...an under appreciated musical innovator from the 60s and beyond. He was a great blues guitarist...but also the first " shredder " ...just watch. " I'm Goin Home " on Woodstock..!! Yes?

This is one of the best songs Steve ever did however, it is one of the saddest. I like this song but find it so sad and it hits me in such a deep place I can rarely let myself hear it. I both live it and avoid it.

Perfect song as spring begins to arrive here in ND.
